Her series of tweets then explained that her cousin’s family went mad and her mother made her work for the remaining money and she was almost disowned from the family but things eventually calmed down.

Winnie also went on to say you don’t need to sow seeds in church to have your prayers answered. See her full tweets below:

What do you guys think? Would you give your church N7m to sow seeds? Is the church wrong for collecting so much money even with the current recession in Nigeria? Let us know in the comments.

See what ladies are wearing to church these days (photos)

vllkyt1edd9hai58g.60994cbd

Most people are always confused about the outfits to wear to church. You have to consider looking decent and appropriate. It’s always good to dress simply yet classy to church but more importantly wear what you are comfortable in.

For the big fans of gowns and skirts it should not be too tight or too short, and you can also consider wearing an A-line skirt because it fits most body types. Pair it with a pretty blouse and a pair of pumps or flats.

If you are a pants kind of person, why not wear your favorite pair of jeans or pants but of course, you have to add spice to it. You can wear your jeans or pants with pretty much everything, a pretty nice blazer jacket or a peplum top would do justice.

US rapper accused of sex abuse in Austria gets bail

freddie-Gibbs1

US rapper Freddie Gibbs, who is charged with the sexual abuse of a female fan in Austria, was released on bail from a Vienna prison on Thursday, court officials said.

The 34-year-old from Gary, Indiana, left the Wien-Josefstadt jail after paying 50,000 euros ($57,000) and surrendering his passport, court spokeswoman Christina Salzborn said.

He has been barred from leaving the country while the case is still open, she said.

Gibbs, whose real name is Fredrick Tipton, was extradited in late July from France where police arrested him on a European arrest warrant shortly before a planned gig in the southwestern city of Toulouse.

The American is accused of drugging two girls — aged 16 and 17 at the time — after a concert in Vienna on July 6, 2015, and taking them back to his hotel where he is said to have abused one of the women.

How DJ Khaled used Snapchat to own US number one album

How DJ Khaled used Snapchat to own US number one album

DJ Khaled, the veteran US hip-hop producer whose career has seen a resurgence through Snapchat, has hit number one for the first time with a star-studded album.

“Major Key,” the DJ’s ninth studio album, debuted at number one on the US Billboard album chart for the week through Thursday with sales of 95,000 copies or the equivalent in downloads and streaming, tracking service Nielsen Music said.

The album features appearances from some of the top names in hip-hop including Jay Z, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj and J. Cole.

DJ Khaled, 40, has long worked with all-star rappers but his own brand quickly grew last year as he put out humorous videos on Snapchat, the social media platform known for temporary postings.

His Snapchat musings, which became the loose theme to his album, revolved around his “keys to success” in life, with his nuggets of wisdom ranging from eating breakfast to lathering his body with cocoa butter.

DJ Khaled appropriately celebrated his number-one album with a slew of social media postings late Sunday and Monday. In one video on Instagram, the portly DJ is seen walking topless around a luxurious home, declaring, “They tried to count me out. Now we count our blessings up.”

Raised in Orlando to Palestinian immigrant parents, DJ Khaled — whose real name is Khaled Mohamed Khaled — is one of the most prominent Muslims in US music.

A fixture on the 1990s Miami club scene, DJ Khaled has occasionally spoken out on behalf of the Palestinian cause but his music is mostly apolitical.

DJ Khaled wrested the top spot on the album chart from one of his collaborators on “Major Key” — Drake.

The Canadian rapper’s “Views” slipped to number two after spending 12 non-consecutive weeks at number one, making it the top-selling album released in 2016 so far in the United States.

Why I titled my debut album ‘God Over Everything’ − Patoranking

patoranking_2.png

Finally the much anticipated album of popular dancehall singer, Patoranking, is out to the delight of his teeming fans. In a recent chat with Punch the singer explained why he titled his album, God Over Everything. He said the title of his album has a spiritual ring to it because of his belief in the power of God.

“I want people to know that amidst having fun God still comes first, hence the choice of the name, God Over Everything. The album is about love, God , my life ,where I come from and where I am headed,” he said.

The lanky artiste also shed light on the inspiration behind his music.

He said, “I was raised in a small slum in Lagos known as Ilaje. My family lived in extreme poverty and my parents struggled to put food on the table. By the age of thirteen, I began hawking various goods to passengers on traffic because I desperately wanted to move my family out of the ghetto, in hopes of providing a better environment for my siblings to grow up and a more comfortable life for my parents. Then God blessed me with music. I learnt from life experiences I garnered over the years and I encapsulate the entirety of my being into my music.

He further added that he makes music that everybody can relate to and this also influences his choice of collaborations.

D’banj not MTN ambassador –Manager

D’banj

’Nonye Ben-Nwankwo, and Ademola Olonilua

With the way telecommunication brand ambassadors ‘port’ from one network to another, many people were not surprised when they heard that self-acclaimed Kokomaster, D’banj, had left Globacom for MTN.

Speaking to Saturday Beats concerning the supposed move, Kokomaster’s manager, simply known as Frank,  said D’banj has no dealings with MTN. He acknowledged that their management team saw the false news on various blogs but seized the opportunity to set the records straight.

“D’banj is not an MTN ambassador; he still has a contract with Globacom. We saw the report on some blogs that he has ‘switched over’ to MTN but it is false. D’banj’s record label, DKN, is doing business with MTN. The label is a vast license administrator and we do caller back tunes across all networks. A lot of people saw the news and assumed it is D’banj that moved to MTN but it is false, DKN is doing business with MTN.

“There is a platform called the Cream Platform and it is for people in the creative industry especially the up and coming artistes who need support. What we did was that we developed a platform that would enable them send a message to a short code and if at the end of the month you are shortlisted, Cream would take the responsibility of fulfilling your request. For instance, if you want to shoot a video, or you want a collaboration with an A-list artiste, after sending a test to the short code, if shortlisted at the end of the month, Cream would help actualise your dream.   That is what we have with MTN. But when people saw the news, they just assumed that it was D’banj that was involved with that,” he said.

Nobody believed my being set ablaze was a stunt –Ani Iyoho

http://www.twinsmega.com/2016/08/nobody-believed-my-being-set-ablaze-was.html
Last week, so many people were left worried over the supposed stunt in a Nollywood movie that went awry. Clips went viral of how a young man was set on fire on a movie scene and so many people went to town with the gist that the guy was actually burnt to death in real life.

However, Ani Iyoho, the man who performed the stunt said it was just a movie and he wasn’t hurt in any way. In fact, the young actor said he felt just warm when he was set ablaze.

Talking about his experience while playing the role, Iyoho who has suddenly become a known face said this was the most challenging stunt he had played since he became an actor.

“This was not my first stunt though; my first was in 2007 when I had to jump from a storey building in a movie, ‘Chase’. I have done a martial art stunt as well, but this was the most challenging and daring so far.

“When I was set ablaze, it felt very warm. I was covered with a protective gear soaked in a protective gel. All I could feel was warmth. Being a stuntman, I knew better than to breathe-in during that process. I was very excited. We had done a test run to know what it would feel like.  It was like pouring warm water on oneself and it just kept getting hotter over time. During the test run, I  dipped my hand into a protective gel then sprinkled some fire accelerants on my hand and then set it on fire just to see how long I could hold on to it,” he said.

Iyoho confessed he took up such challenging roles once he got tired of acting “romantic roles.”

“To be frank, I stumbled on the role; I was just at the right place at the right time when I got the role in the movie. The part was not supposed to be mine. When I knew I was to do the fire scene, I was excited because I was already tired of acting in romantic dramas. We do the same thing over and over again. I needed something challenging. I wanted to do something new and this was something refreshing. The make-up artiste had assured me that what she would do for me would work and it took months before we shot that scene. We had actually shot the major part of the movie earlier in the year but recently did the fire scene. The make-up artiste did a lot of research with practitioners in Hollywood to get the job done. So I had a lot of faith in her.”

The actor said that ever since the false news of his demise broke, he has received overwhelming messages of love from people who didn’t even know him,” he said.

He said, “My faith in humanity has been restored. There are people that I do not know who sent me messages on my social media platforms praying for me. There were a few other comments of people thinking I was a part of the scam. But I was honoured to see the number of people who sent me good luck messages. I never knew I was this loved.”

I can do anything for my job –Uche Ogbodo

http://www.twinsmega.com/2016/08/i-can-do-anything-for-my-job-uche-ogbodo.html

Popular actress, Uche Ogbodo, got more than what she bargained for earlier in the week when she posted a picture on her Instagram page showing a new hairdo and a unique make-up style.

Shortly after the picture was posted, fans feasted on her like lions do their prey with many calling her a masquerade and other unprintable names.

But Ogbodo seems unperturbed as she told Saturday Beats that she could do anything for her acting career.

Speaking on the backlash she got from fans, the actress said that she is unmoved by their utterances and she is tired of insulting people on her social media. She explained to Saturday Beats that as an actress, she has to constantly change her looks.

“I am aware of all the negative comments people posted on my wall after I uploaded a picture some days back. That picture and the make-up were done for a designer that contacted me for a celebrity runway gig. The make-up artist felt that was the look that would work for them. I am an artiste and that work puts food on my table. In my past interviews, I have always said that I can do anything for my job. I don’t care what people think or say about me. It does not affect me in anyway and it is not going to make me cry neither would it make me feel bad about myself because I am a very confident woman.

“I began losing weight because after I had my baby, some people said that I was too fat while others felt I was not looking okay so I had to go to the gym to work on my body. I am a very busy girl and I work round the clock. If I am working on my body, it is because of the love I have for myself and my job so anybody who does not like it should know that I don’t care. If you don’t like the make-up applied on my face, then that is your business.

“Last week, I was filming in Abuja and I played the part of a tomboy so I needed to cut my hair to look the part. I have a full hair and I always cut my hair. It is my job and I will do anything I have for it. When the director told me to cut my hair to fit the role better, I did not think twice about it and that was why I did the Mohawk style. Right now, I am producing my movie and I am going to play the part of a blind girl. I will do anything to get into character. I don’t care what people say about my looks. I get bored with one particular look and if you know me well, I change my looks from time to time and if you do not like it that is your business. I don’t care about what anybody says; I wore the dress that the designer made and the make-up artist worked on my face to sell the product. When I got on the runway, people liked it and they took pictures. That was why I decided to upload it on my Instagram page so that my followers would have a feel of what I did over the weekend.

“Instead of applause, I got comments that I look like a masquerade or I am very dark. I am tired of insulting people on my page. I have a very sharp tongue and if I start to talk, people would say I am rude and I would later have to apologise for it. What I have learnt about being a celebrity is that you can never satisfy everyone. My career demands that I look different at all times. I am going to post a picture of me as a blind girl and I don’t care what people say,” Ogbodo said.

Brymo speaks on controversies, music and more

– Brymo has opened up on several controversial issues in his career, his love life and whatnot

 – The Ara singer, in a new interview with HFTv, also touched on the need for creativity as nothing surpasses the act of music

Controversial Nigerian singer Brymo was the guest on this week’s episode of Da Chat with Zinnia on HFTv Africa and he spoke on a range of subjects from Chocolate City to his love life, baby mama and more. The Ara singer opened up on his early beginning in music, saying he wrote his first song at the age of 14. He also talked about charting a different path from what his father wanted for him by getting into the arts.

Former Chocolate City artiste Brymo

His father wanted him to study and become a doctor. The entertainer also spoke on his music journey leading to the point where he dropped out of school to fully pursue his dreams in entertainment. The eccentric musician then touched on the Twitter drama of June, 2016 wherein he told a fan to drop out of school and chase his dreams. Recall that on Saturday, June 4, 2016, a fan tweeted at the Ara singer requesting some money to settle his fees in school but got a surprising response instead.

He discussed as well the business of making music in Nigeria and getting adequate returns and all that. He also touched on the shortcomings in the industry, the need to evolve and the income flow in the entertainment industry. According to Brymo, he was supposed to get paid for making the hit song Oleku but he never did. He also explained that his contract at Chocolate City was lifted off the internet and unfitting for the Nigerian market. It was a packed and revealing episode with the Oleku hit maker.
