Nigerian footballer dies while training in Azerbaijan
According to reports, the young footballer was training with his teammates when he suddenly collapsed.
A Nigerian footballer, Michael Umanyika on Monday, August 15 died while training with his club in Azerbaijan.
Umanyika played for Azerbaijan First Division club, Zagatala PFK before his death.According to reports, the young footballer was training with his teammates when he suddenly collapsed.
All efforts by his teammates and medics to revive him were unsuccessful and he was confirmed dead shortly after.
This was his first training since he returned from Nigeria where he spent his summer holidays.
He joined Zagatala PFK last season and has only played 20 times.
