In a strange, albeit humorous twist of events, a judge in Italy has ruled in favour of a man paying his wife's alimony, not with money but pizza.
According to Munchies, citing a local Italian news report, a court in Padua ruled in favour of a divorced father's paying alimony to his ex-wife exclusively in the form of pizza.
The 50-year old; referred to as NT in local reports, also happens to be a pizza maker, and was required as part of a divorce settlement to make a monthly payment of €300 (about N70,000) in child support to his ex-wife.
He however thought it would be fair to pay the alimony with his edible wares rather than cash, an idea his ex-wife rejected and took him to court for.
Unfortunately for the ex-wife the judge - Judge Chiara Bitozziruled in favor of the father and found him not guilty of non-payment of child support.
In the ruling, the judge stated that the pizza maker did not earn enough money to make full payments in actual cash, and as such, it was acceptable for him to pay for the alimony entirely in pizza.
It however remains unknown what type of pizza the man will be giving as alimony payments.
Do you think the judge gave a fair ruling? Let's know what you think.
