Floods in Paris force world's largest museum to evacuate priceless artworks

A severe flooding in Paris, France is forcing the Louvre museum to move several of its artworks to prevent it from possible damage.
Days of torrential rains in the City of Lights led to the Seine river overflowing its bank, thus leading to a severe flooding.

To this end, works in vulnerable locations will be evacuated to higher levels as the Louvre responds to rapidly rising floodwaters in the French capital.

This also led to the museum's closure today, Friday 3rd, June.

French President, Francois Hollande told French media that the country is to declare a state of natural disaster for the areas worst affected by flooding.

Meanwhile, the downpours are forecast to continue through the weekend, following days of heavy rains in France and Germany.
